One world - One classroom - The Global Teenager project featuring peerScholar

On September 4, 2014 peerScholar was featured in an article on the MindShareLearning.com blog.  The article highlights the use of peerScholar which was used by Canadian students who were part of the 2014 Global Teenager Project. This year the project focused on Children's Charter Rights and was completed by students from multiple countries around the world. peerScholar allowed students to collaborate and share their viewpoints quickly and easily. 


peerScholar highlighted at the UofT MadLab Tech Fair

On September 4, 2014 peerScholar was showcased at the MADLab Tech Fair at the University of Toronto, St.George campus.  Faculty and students of the University were on hand to see a live demo of the online peer-assessment tool and to hear about the research behind it.  Thanks for coming out and visiting our booth!


Research Publication - Taking Learning Outcomes to the Gym

The Higher Education Quality Council of Canada (HEQCO) recently published an research article from our lab (the Advanced Learning Skills Lab) at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Taking Learning Outcomes to the Gym: An assignment-based approach to Developing and Assessing Learning Outcomes. The paper asks Can learning technology “workouts” both develop and assess cognitive skills? 


2013 Inventors of the Year Award

In May, Dwayne Pare and Steve Joordens became one of the University of Toronto's 2013 Inventors of the Year for the research and development of peerScholar. The award is given to those whose inventions are unique and have potential for global impact and commercial appeal. Congratulations!
